2 days!

I still cannot believe it's almost time for me to head to Uganda. This is something I have prayed about and dreamed about for so long. I feel overwhelmingly blessed to have the opportunity to serve in Africa. When I started this journey several months ago I never imagined that I would be able to raise all of the funds needed for my trip. Today, I am in awe of how many family, friends, and people I barely know that have reached out to me. 

Today, I am asking for prayers. I have been reading a lot of verses on peace and I am needing prayers that the Lord will provide me peace as I travel. This is my first time traveling alone, and my first time flying out of the country. 

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 14:27

I know the Lord has everything under control, and I am so excited to be a part of the orphanage team for Believers Word Outreach. I can't wait to share all the amazing things God does during these next two weeks!

Philippians 4:19

The title for this post is perfect for how I am feeling about my upcoming mission trip so far. 

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.- Philippians 4:19

The only thing that has ever held me back from going on a mission trip has been the finances, and for the first time I finally decided to put things into God's hands. I have been amazed by all the support I have gotten from family and friends since I decided to start fundraising for my trip. I am well on my way to raising the funds I need for my first big payment at the beginning of February. 

To raise money for my trip I am selling Ugandan paper bead earrings. The beads on the earrings are made by women in Uganda and they are so unique! I love them! I am so thankful for my wonderful friends who spent hours helping me make earrings one night. If you are interested in purchasing a pair they are $10. called to go!

After many years of feeling called to go on a mission trip I have finally decided to take the first step in being obedient to the Lord. In high school I knew in my heart that one day I would take a mission trip. I didn't know where, how, or when but I knew it would happen. In June of 2013 I will be traveling to Uganda (located in East Africa) to spend two weeks spreading God's love with sweet orphans.

I cannot wait to spend time with these precious babies

I want to remember every step of this trip including the before, during, and after. So, I have decided to blog about it. Please pray for me during this journey! I will post updates throughout the entire process.
